Know when it’s Time to Change Your Brother Toner Drum Unit

Brother laser printers are crucial office equipment in the modern business world. These laser printers ensure great efficiency when it comes to heavy printing and guarantee professional-looking documents. But like any other office equipment, they require regular maintenance to ensure you have no problems with your printing needs. Any Brother printer that sees a lot of use needs well-timed replacement of two (separate) consumables: the Brother toner cartridge and the Brother drum unit. It is important for users to know when they actually need to only replace the drum unit and not a replacement brother toner cartridge in order to save on unnecessary expenses.

Remember when your printer suddenly started churning out blurry pages, or revealed black spots or blotches on printed documents? Following are the signs/symptoms that will let you know it is time to change your Brother toner drums:
Display Prompt: Brother laser printers come equipped with a drum unit counter and regularly checks for the number of pages printed. When a set limit is reached, the printer starts flashing an error or warning message saying a replacement of drum unit is required.

Blurry Printouts: As you notice the printer producing blurry pages or black spots, it is an indication that your printer drum unit might be damaged. Confirm this by checking the Replacement Toner Ink Cartridges and if it shows the toner levels are sufficient, the drum unit is most likely the one demanding a replacement.

Print blank pages: From gradual fading to black or white patches to producing completely blank documents, your printer’s drum unit has completely failed when it starts giving black printouts.

Poor Print Quality: Low-quality documents by a Brother laser printer are quite an indication of a failed printer drum. Poor printouts can sometimes be confusing and might look as a requirement of a replacement brother toner cartridge. Once again, check your cartridge to check the ink toner levels. If found adequate, it is clearly a case of damaged toner drum unit.

Noises: Other sign of a printer drum failure is strange sounds coming from the printer when it prints. Generally, a laser printer does not make any sound during function.
